Throughout the novel Craig speaks of this "Big Shift". He waits for the shift, for his brain to move into place, for himself not to feel so awful. "I don't know where my brain went. It got knocked off-kilter somewhere. It got caught in some crap it couldn't deal with" (Vizzini). Craig Gilner felt his brain shift a little to left but do not think his depression was cured, he just decided suicide was not the right option.
" So now live for real, craig. live.live.live.live
live."
